Talk about Extreme Weather….

15 Nov 2006, Wednesday – A day of profuse confusion for Queenslanders and East-side boarders…

The “Weather God” have gotten created and decided to push a gust of wind from the Antartica while maintaining the hot summer sun on Australia. What happens next had put a lot of people into confusion, frustration and some even jubilation.

The cold front from the south brought along cold gusts of strong winds, rain, hail and snow two weeks short of summer!!! What the???

Queensland alone had 3 different kind of weather. The northern part of the state was baked under the hot 40 degree temperature while the south east (Brisbane) was whacked left right and centre with strong gusts of cold wind and pelted with a heavy down pour of rain and smacked with hail. The area close to the NSW border, higher up on the mountains was “iced” with snow!


Heavy snowfall reported in some parts of NSW and Victoria.

Sydney recorded an all time low temperature of 8.5 degrees in November!

A lot of us have put our winter clothing and quilt away, only to have to drag them all out again because “somebody” decided to have a little fun!

Still, lucky for us, the hail storm in Brisbane was extremely short and the hail was tiny (smaller than the smallest ‘guli’ / marble), which spared our car getting “pock marks”.
